Spelling Fun for Everyone

Our events have no barriers to entry based on age or spelling skill - we're for kids from one to 92!

Our spellers are known to put on quite a display for the fans; even if you don't spell yourself, we're sure to be a crowd-pleaser!

What is WSC?

The World Spelling Championship is the first-of-its-kind, major open-eligibility spelling event.

Brought to you jointly by the World Spelling Organization and SpellPundit, WSC is designed in part to supply a stable platform for spellers exiting the Scripps National Spelling Bee to seamlessly transition onto once their eligibility expires.

We aspire to be a different kind of spelling bee, but our values are rooted in tradition.

While we carry the game to the next level of challenge and showmanship, we pledge to adhere to the time-honored thrills of ungimmicky, miss-and-out spelling action.

Built by spellers, for spellers of all kinds.

WSC is not only designed for professionals; we aim to appeal to all who love to spell, from casual bee fans to long-ago national spellers seeking to relive their fondest memories. Above all, our mission is for you to have fun!
